Cloud Network Engineer // £450 pd (Hybrid)



Job Description:

1. Design and implement cloud networking architectures, considering scalability, performance, security, and cost optimisation.
2. Configure and manage virtual networks, subnets, routing tables, gateways, and other networking components in a cloud environment.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, system administrators, and security professionals, to ensure seamless integration of networking infrastructure with cloud applications and services.
4. Implement network security measures, such as firewalls, access control lists (ACLs), and virtual private networks (VPNs), to protect cloud resources from unauthorised access and data breaches.
5. Monitor network performance, analyse traffic patterns, and optimise network configurations to ensure high availability and low latency for cloud-based applications.
6. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime and disruptions.
7. Develop and maintain documentation, including network diagrams, configuration guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cloud network infrastructure.
8. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud networking, and evaluate their potential impact on the organisation's infrastructure.
9. Collaborate with cloud service providers and vendors to evaluate, implement, and integrate new networking technologies and services.
10. Participate in capacity planning activities to ensure the cloud network infrastructure can accommodate future growth and increasing workload demands.

Requirements:

1. Solid understanding of networking principles, protocols, and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).
2. Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, and familiarity with their networking services (e.g., Amazon VPC, Azure Virtual Network).
3. Proficiency in network configuration and management tools, such as Cisco ACI, Cisco Meraki, PaloAlto ETC
4. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex network issues in a distributed cloud environment.
5. Knowledge of network security concepts and best practices, including firewall configuration, access control, and encryption protocols.
6. Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) and network virtualisation technologies.
7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
8. Relevant certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, or equivalent, are a plus.
