IT Senior Infrastructure Engineer (security)



The Role
To make a leading contribution to the development and maintenance to a cyber security posture and technical infrastructure. To take ownership of various projects with a focus on information security. To assist the wider team providing technical expertise, carrying out maintenance and support as required.

Duties and responsibilities
• Managing remediation of vulnerabilities.
• Monitor and develop logging to manage internal and external threat monitoring.
• Keeping up to date on IT security trends and keeping the team informed.
• Making recommendations on new cyber security technology and leading on its implementation if adopted.
• Develop learning materials for wider staff engagement around cyber security.
• Reviewing and maintaining IT security documentation and controls.
• Helping to complete IT security questionnaires from clients and prospects.
• Carrying out IT security supplier due diligence.

Support and maintenance
• Undertake investigations into problems escalated from the IT Service Desk. Take ownership of issues to identify and implement appropriate technical solutions.
• Provide cover to IT support as required.
• Undertake maintenance/patching.

Person Specification
Essential
Experience
• Experience in working in an IT environment as part of a team.
• Experience of working within a cyber security team or working on cyber security for a significant part of your role

• Organisation and coordination skills and experience.

Essential knowledge and qualification
• Management of SIEM systems
• Management of vulnerability management tools
• Support and administration of Microsoft Server (2016+)
• Support and administration of Microsoft Office 365
• Support and administration of Microsoft Azure

Desirable
• Knowledge of ISO27001, Cyber Essentials
• Knowledge of cloud security principles
• Knowledge of ITIL principles and certifications
• Knowledge and experience of working with linux environments
• Educated to degree level
• Project management experience

Location
Can be based in Leeds or Basingstoke - with remote working

Salary
Depending on experience up to £55k
