Inverter / Drives & Control Technician
Job Description
Our client is a well-established, family-run engineering business based in Kent, with over 65 years’ experience delivering services within the industrial and engineering sector.
They are currently offering an excellent opportunity for a full-time Inverter / Drives & Control Technician to join their team.
This is a varied and hands-on role within a reactive business environment. The position will involve the installation of variable speed drives and fault-finding on industrial control systems, primarily working with three-phase motor starters, including star/delta, soft starters, and variable speed drives.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with this type of equipment, gained through a recognised qualification, a time-served apprenticeship, or similar practical experience.

- Key Requirements & Responsibilities
- Hold a valid UK driving licence
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a team on both installation and reactive works
- Hold 17th or 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
- Ability to follow instructions and directions accurately
- Communicate effectively with customers to understand requirements and resolve issues
- Fault finding and repairs on electrical installations and control systems
- Removal and replacement of motor starters and control gear
- Carry out modification work to existing control panels
- Read and understand electrical drawings
- Desirable (but not essential)
- 2391 or 2394/2395 inspection and testing qualifications
